I really had no intentions of going, I wanted to but I didn't have a ticket orrr money to even get one so it wasn't in the cards. I was pretty bummed because one of my favorite DJs right now - Francesca Lombardo - was going to be playing and I have never heard her. All my friends who went to BPM in Mexico said she was amazing. Also Audiofly was going to be there but I didn't really care my main focus was on Francesca. Also I went to the Robot Heart Party last Spring on a whim. I met these people outside of Provocateur and they asked if I wanted to go to this party in Brooklyn. I didn't know them but didn't have anything better to do so I jumped in the limo with them and we headed to Robot Heart. They were really nice and funny and since then I've run into them on separate occasions so it never hurts to jump into random limos! At least in my case.
Anyways I lost them soon after I got to Robot Heart because it was so crowded but ran into the usual cast of characters I see out so I felt at home and just really loved the whole party and atmosphere.
I didn't go to their Halloween party - which I'm not sure why and I don't really know what the fuck I did that night - its really weird - my boyfriend and I tried to figure it out for almost 20 mins and we were both drawing blanks. If anyone was with me on Halloween let me know because I really want to know what I did! There was a general consensus that Halloween party was HOT. Boiling hot. Everyone complained about it so I'm not too sad I missed it.
ANYWAYS. Back to the current Robot Heart party. The theme for their most recent party was "Futuristic" which basically means you could dress up as anything really. I looked at their dress code and it was hilarious - you could even go naked if you wanted.
Oh yeah - so I didn't have a ticket but I got a nice early graduation present! So I was good to go. I didn't dress up though. Not because I'm too cool or anything but it was really short notice for me, I found out an hour before that I was going and..well..to be honest I probably wouldn't have either way. I just don't really like to dress because I don't anything that cool. I would just feel stupid - most people look dope with their costumes - but me - no. Its just not ever going to happen for me.
We pregamed before with all of our friends in BK before heading over. We get to the space and it is FUCKING HUGE!!! Francesca was starting and she was AMAZING! I think she is one of the best DJs right now and there really isn't that much buzz about her. I would LOVE to see her spin at Output.
Besides Capriati at Sullivan Room it was probably my favorite sets I've heard all year. We stayed maybe another hour after she was done but then left. Nobody could top her and the whole vibe completely changed once she was done.
I had so much fun, it was such a great grad present..I can't wait for the next party.
