So i haven't had any real nightlife dirt in awhile. Instead I have had to rely on my personal antidotes to keep this blog somewhat entertaining..to whom - beats me
Well well well
A reliable source who works for the new restaurant that took over the failed Travertine - Ken and Cook - says that management are complete CRACK HEADS.
Like cocaine cowboy status to the point that people are about to jump ship because its so annoying working for them. They are telling me management is always coked out or on something that they want to quit.
From what I heard the staff is making decent money too, its still in that "scene stage" where people go just because its somewhat popular from word of mouth but as time goes on we all realize..this fish tastes sort of...fishy..and why is everyone wearing denim shirts? If cash flow is solid it must be pretty bad because i know some functional coke heads and never heard of people quitting on them, so these guys must be a mess!
Hey and like I've always said any place that follows a previous space is always lackluster, cursed, and missing that edge. Its like a sequel to a movie. Its never as good as the original. It might not particularly pertain to this..I'm going on a tangent..but Pink Elephant for example. Why? Like honestly i don't get it. Why revive a club that sunk only 2 years ago. Just leave it alone. Or Bungalow 8? Just let it be. Its like reheating food. It never tastes as good.
I don't get it. Why not just have the same people behind Pink Elephant or Bungalow 8 open up a space and just name it something else so it doesn't remind us of past drunken regrets. Let us dazzle on with faded memories at somewhere new. "oh pink elephant? that place that shut down? its opening again?" it will ALWAYS be known as that. People don't forget! Even us! Who usually forget everything. That shit sticks in your brain.
Sorry got side tracked.
Ken and Cook is run by crack heads. I give it 6 months or less.

some more stuff i did.
Mondazeeeeeeee
I went on a date. I know right? What the hell is going on.
We went to Employees Only and it was fun then Double Seven which sucked as usual and then Avenue which was so much fun!!! Sometimes Avenue is a wild card on a Monday but i was having a blast.. I got really tired though, my body was still recovering from the weekend, it caught up to me again. I hit a wall so I left around 3 AM.
TUESDAY BABY TUESDAY
Doriet and I met up with Deevee and went to the Darby. I literally ran into all my really good friends, like the actual real ones, they randomly showed up and the night took a turn from predictably a mediocre Tuesday to a memorable one. I can't remember the last time i had a sour night...i've been on a roll lately - no pun intended. There is about four of us who have hung for 3 years and met when we first moved here so we have this bond. I would kill for these guys. We went to 1Oak after where Cassidy performed. I honestly have no idea who that is.
It was fun I stayed pretty late then booked it home because my mom was meeting me the next day.
I will be back Friday, I'm going to a Red Sox game tomorrow with my dad and drinking a beer and eating peanuts its going to be awesome! I missed this OG he taught me everything i know

Going for the Gold
WOW
Thats all i can say about last night. It was one of those where it made me realize why I love going out so much. It was one of the best nights I have had all year.
THURSDAY
I didn't want to go out. I was tired and grumpy, i had to muster every last ounce of energy inside to get in that cab to Provocateur. Earlier that day I smoked weed and walked around Central Park. I skipped class. I reasoned there was nothing that valuable i was going to learn that day, so why waste it inside a stuffy classroom? I watched a baseball game, I rooted for the team with the better looking pitcher. After a couple hours I went to my second class and told him I am doing a speech on anti gun control. He gave me a puzzled look, "Didn't you just tattoo a gun on your neck?" I just gave him a blank stare. That probably confused him even more.
I met up with Julian and Doriet and we drank mimosas on Julians rooftop - we are pretty sure his building is going to collapse. But I thought, might as well drink mimosas on the ride down. We did a small circuit of the happy hour trail, including Kabin. Our first stop was Bantam but we quickly ran out. I don't get what all that hype was about? The design looks like a victorian bathroom and its dark with no music and no people. I walked in and groaned, "No please noooo I don't want to drink in a dark bathroom" My friends were on the same wavelength so we did that awkward pause where we surveyed the room made a glance with the bartender then me doing a "sorry shrug" I wonder how long they will be open.
I went home after Kabin and took a 4 minute power nap and we headed to Provoc early because it was Julians birthday so we wanted to be in a good atmosphere once the clock struck 12. It was like fate. We ran into my good friend Alexandria, who then introduced us to her friends who were sooooo cool. We all hit it off and we had that same mentality of just having fun and going crazy. Doriet goes "Everyone thinks we are rolling" That's what happens when your the only one having fun. Sorry we don't fit the "lets look miserable and text all our friends about how much fun we are having" mold. I love when I go out with no expectations and the night turns out to be great, those are always the best. Its so refreshing to meet real people as well, especially those who can keep up with us.
Thomas Gold was unreal. One of the best djs I have ever heard there. I still can't get over how great it was, I woke up this morning with a pang in my heart wishing i could go back in time and relive that night. Have you ever had that happen?
Happy Birthday Julian! I'm so happy you had a great time last night!!!

The crew last night. Some guy texted our friend saying "Its not working out anymore" So we replied back with this message. I think he is in love with her now.
Happy Birthday Julian! I'm so happy you had a great time last night!!!

Run around sue
What's up
THURSDAY
I came back to the city and ran around for a couple hours then had an interview for a job uptown at 6:30. After my interview I hung out at my friend Elissa's place then went to Provocateur. Nothing really interesting happened...only lesson I learned is to distance yourself from people who say their your "friend" Why do so many people in nightlife have alternative motives? Why can't people just be cool? I'm not a naturally vindictive person so it's annoying that I always have to think like one to protect myself and understand people's actions. I guess it can't always be sunshine and butterflies.
FRIDAY
I went to Elissa's real quick then went for a long walk to Artichoke to get something to eat. It was really nice out, I then went to Meatpack and ate my slice of pizza and listened to Eric Clapton and just people watched. I got up and walked home then got ready because my friend was PICKING ME UP and then we were gonna head to Electric Room. Having a friend pick you up and drive you to a club is better than sex sometimes. It just gave me the motivation to get ready and go out. So my friend came, we drove to Electric Room and blasted music and were able to get a spot right outside Dream. Lucky night. We decided to have a couple drinks at the bar area in the hotel before heading to Electric Room. Does anyone else think walking down that ramp is difficult? I always feel like I'm going to be "that girl" that trips and plummets to her death. I've gotten lucky so far but I know its going to happen. Electric Room was packed and the music was reaaaally good. We stayed pretty late but my stomach felt weird we left and just kicked it because I wasn't feeling so hot
SATURDAY
Grabbed lunch at this diner then met up with Julian and Doriet in the lower east side. After catching up, me and Doriet decided to walk all the way home because it was so nice out. We didn't make it a block before we were sitting at a bar having a glass of wine. It was only 4 bucks though..after that we went home and parted ways. I got ready and went to PHD "brunch" - not sure brunch exists at 7 PM but its New York City so anything goes. It was a lot of fun and I ran into a bunch of my friends. For some reason I decided to leave and go alllllllllll the way to 111th street and hang out with my friend Jason. Dumb move..we went to this bar..then Soho Grand..and then the lower east side. It was just a stupid night..just running around and not having that much fun. But that's Saturday for you.
SUNDAY
I went for a really long walk and then went to bed.

Couple days
We all recovered from New Years. I didn't feel like staying in so I met up with Julian and Keelin in Chinatown and we went by Gold Bar. I never got the memo it was CLOSED!!! I heard people talking about it the night before but I didn't think much of it, I honestly thought I was hearing things (sometimes it happens) But I guess it was true. Lame. I took that as a sign to crawl up into bed, order some food, and watch bad TV. So I went back to Blank and got some much needed rest.
Totally recharged. I helped clean up from the party on NYE at Blank. There was soooo much leftover alcohol not even opened yet. So i grabbed about 7 bottles and headed over to Isabella's place. We started partying at 8 PM and it was once again, so much fun. We got ready for hours and laughed and joked around.
I mean - we can't do this shit forever. At some point we have to grow up but none of us are ready to yet. I don't want to be 27 doing this, so I'd rather take advantage of my youth - some people I know should do the same.
We met up with some friends who live right across the street from Butter. We hung out for an hour then just walked across the street to the club. Surprisingly it was actually a lot of fun probably because we were so out of it. My friends went to PHD but for some reason I stayed - god, sometimes i really get mad at myself. I always feel like I make the wrong decision. It wasn't that bad though, we all met up at Isabella's and stayed up the rest of night.
Missed my train home. I overslept. I rescheduled it for the next day and hung out with Brandyn. His friend Miguel came over, we smoked, and listened to beats that Miguel made. It was cool..I went to Blank after and got some sleep before my train.
I forgot my wallet when I came to New York and only had 100 bucks so I ran out of money and had to go home. I don't care, I'm ready to chill out for a couple days before I head back for school. I have to go to Ohio though and celebrate my grandparents 50th anniversary. I haven't seen them for 2 years so I'm really excited. Its going to be so boring though.

My Birthday
That's right. I turned 21 this weekend, and it felt like the never ending birthday party. It was by far the best party I ever had. It started Friday, I had no one to help me set up everyone was either working or sleeping so I ran around all day with my head cut off. By the time I blew up all the balloons, I couldn't feel my fingers and was just over it. But Julian and friends start filtering in and it was amazing. It went from 10 people to 100 in like 5 minutes, BAM. We had all this sushi catered and endless amounts of vodka, wine, and champagne. My boy Kris Graham was DJing, at one point it didnt really make sense to even go out, the party was at Blank.
Well, we went out anyways. We all filtered out and grabbed cabs to 1Oak. I wasn't feeling so hot, and got bored so my friend Anna, Doctor Love, and I snuck off to Provocateur. Your only cool if you leave your own party. We killed it, everyone came back around 4 AM for an afterparty. That's when things got a little blurry. Apparently we celebrated my cake and I blew out the candles, ten minutes later I asked my friends if we did the cake yet. That's how bad it got. I kicked everyone out in the morning, and just died.
SATURDAY
I had intentions of going to Lavo Brunch but that was just out of the question. I didn't move till Sunday.
SUNDAY
That night Julian, Hilary, and some guy came over and we pregamed before celebrating my ACTUAL birthday at midnight. We blasted music and popped champagne at midnight. We all walked to Goldbar, it was so nice out, just a bunch of drunk kids going to a dark room to hang out. Gold Bar was fun but all my friends left pretty early and went home. I stayed and later drifted off to Kenmare where I made a couple new friends, I looked around and realized where I was and ran out - I had a class in 4 hours.
Safe to say i didn't make it.
MONDAY
My real birthday. Doctor Love and I went up to Central Park and walked around, I don't know I just felt like going. We then grabbed a birthday lunch at Lavo and ate like kings. I was so full and had the choice to go to Home Depot or my last class. I went to school. Later that night we met up with Kris Graham and his friend Sarah, we went to this underground sushi place. We drank japanese beers, laughed, and ate soo much sushi. We headed back to Blank got ready then it was off to Avenue. The bouncer asked "Are you sure your old enough to be here" - I smiled and handed him my ID, As a matter a fact yes i am. Everyone says its not fun to go out once your 21, but I found it quite satisfying - no more trial and tribulations with fake IDS and angry bouncers who loathe me. I told the bouncers at Oak this week I was 21 and never saw a group of smiles so big. I got a birthday cake at Avenue and got to meet.......ERICK MORILLOOOOOOOOOOOO
He wished me a Happy Birthday, i stuck around for a little longer but fatigue started setting in so we went back and I passed the fuck outttt.
Overall - great birthday
